Lightning Talent V Maverick Talent

The match started tensely with lightning talent knowing that mavericks are just above them in the league table had to come out strong focusing on team work and maintaining their work rate. Mavericks had a large number of England players, and the match was physical.

First quarter saw battles between the two side’s forcing errors using intense defending on the ball shooters scoring from all areas of the shooting circle, end of the quarter 12 all

A change in the second quarter saw Joy Davies on at WA, this did not disturb the flow and the momentum from the first quarter , errors from both teams kept the excitement and everyone focused on the game, as the ball moved form end to end the quarter ended 10 – 11 Mavericks

Going in to the third quarter saw Mavericks make changes, and up the tempo, Lightning talent could not keep up with the momentum and confidence started to wane. Losing the quarter 6-14

Final quarter saw further changes from Lightning’s bench Jayde Savage C and Rachel Saville WD. This seemed to give the team an up lift as they battled with mavericks for every ball to ensure lightning shooters got a chance to score with a close fourth quarter score 7-9 Final score 35 -46 Mavericks
