Loughborough Lightning Talent V Brunel Hurricanes
During the first quarter both teams came out hard and were hungry for the ball,
Loughborough Lightning Talent managed to take a comfortable lead by the end of the first quarter (12 – 7).
Brunel made some changes at quarter time while the Lightning line-up remained the same. Brunel changes seemed to have a significant effect, as lightning adjusted, but at half time Lightning were still leading by 5 goals.
Changes were made by both teams in the third quarter. Lightning Talent moved Nia Campbell-Watson from WD to C, Rachel Saville to WD this made Lightning’s play increasingly fluent and steady, Brunel managed to decrease their goal deficit to only 2, as Lighting adjusted to their changes.
Fourth quarter saw lightning come out fighting, realising that they did not want to loose that third spot in the table, they fought for every ball, piling on the pressure as they defended to get the ball to their shooters, who rewarded them by scoring the goals. Lightning Talent displayed excellent netball, which had the crowd along with the bench on the edge of their seats, spurring them on to victory. The final result was 39 – 33
Loughborough Lightning Talent’s grit and determination has been displayed throughout the season, having to adjust to various team changes, with that they have finished a well deserved third. Well done to all!!
