Netball challenge comes to Highcross Leicester
Posted in Community News, News by Lightning Media with No Comments

Loughborough Lightning, the premier netball team in the Midlands, will be visiting Highcross Leicester on Saturday 12th March to encourage shoppers to take part in a goal shooting challenge.
Players and coaches from Loughborough Lightning will be in the centre from 9am to run the challenge, but also provide information about upcoming fixtures in the FIAT National Superleague.
The event also provides a chance to find out more about the sport in Leicestershire and schemes such as Back to Netball.
Val Kindred, County Netball Development Officer said:
“Netball is a fast paced sport that is seeing an increase in participation and interest. The challenge at Highcross is a great opportunity to have a go, meet some of the Lightning players, and find out how to get involved in playing the sport.
The challenge will be situated in St Peter’s Square in the Highcross Centre.
Sam French, Marketing Events Co-ordinator said:
“Highcross is a keen supporter of regional sporting initiatives and has been working closely with our county sports partnership, Leicester-shire & Rutland Sport, to encourage more active lifestyles.
“Whether you’re looking to play competitively or socially, Netball is a great way to keep fit and we hope as many people as possible will be up for the goal shooting challenge with Loughborough Lightning in St Peter’s Square.”
