Lightning Fun Day April 2007

"We had a great day on Saturday. My daughter was well impressed with the shooting techniques she was taught. As she is very small, the "flamingo" will come in useful against the taller players.

It was well organised and all the lightning squads were full of advice and very friendly.

It was nice to see in the tournament games that Val matched the players by height as my daughter is only 4ft and found herself standing by players of 5ft plus at some stages. This made it a fairer game and alot more enjoyable.

We will definitely be coming again."

"Thank you for arranging the Netball Fun Day last Saturday I know how much work is involved in arranging this sort of thing. My daughter Elysia attended on Saturday and still this morning (Monday) is on a high she enjoyed it and got so much out of it. She was in total awe of the team girls that so kindly gave there day up to be there thank you to each and everyone of them. Hope you do it again next year."

"Bethany and I had a great day.

As a mother, I really enjoyed being able to play a game of netball with my 10 year old daughter. I am hoping to continue playing long enough for us to be in the same team, so this was a real incentive.

It was great to spend time with the players and then watch them play so well in their game-you feel a real affinity.

Please let us know when the next one is, as I'm sure word will get round and there will be even more interest next time."

Suzie Watson (12) says, "I had loads of fun. It was great seeing all the players from the different stages. I got a good insight in to what I have to do to get to their level."

It was a great day and the girls really enjoyed themselves amongst those that they aspire to emulate, Many thanks for all the hard work you, Val and others put into the day. I am sure the girls will want to go again. Seeing the competitiveness made me want to play again - the mind is willing the body not so able these days!
