Loughborough University plays host to a comprehensive netball development programme, with Loughborough Lightning at its pinnacle. Loughborough Lightning is the Midlands team that competes in the Fiat Netball Super League. Over the past 6 years the team has included current and former internationals Karen Atkinson, Jade Clarke, Ama Agbeze, Alex Astle (Wood), Joanne Harten and Olivia Murphy.
The Fiat Super League, combines the finest players in the UK along with international stars to form 9 Super League franchises from England, Scotland and Wales.
The tough, physical and dynamic league demands endurance, skill, speed and dedication and produces top class sporting entertainment.
The Fiat Netball Super League is broadcast by Sky Sports and partnered by England Netball and Fiat. The Super League is reported on and covered by regional and national press and the Super League’s stars are fast becoming the hottest women in sport to shoot, talk about and interact with.
